An Unusual English or Welsh Joined Oak Hooded Armchair. The rectangular fielded panel back enclosed by a flat back-sloped canopy top and paneled sides with boxed-in triangular elbow extensions. The canopy's arched rail carved with crouching demons either side flanking undulant serpents to the centre. The flat round-ended arms morticed to square front legs joining a lozenge carved front panel and fielded panel sides incorporating a side opening drawer hung on side groove runners and fitted with a wrought iron swing handle. The plank seat furbished with a later swab cushion covered in crimson jacquard woven fabric edged with piping. 58½'' (148 cm) high, 28'' (71 cm) wide, 22½'' (57 cm) deep.**
