HAUTECLOCQUE XAVIER DE: (1897-1935) French Writer and Journalist. Assassinated by the Nazis for his writings denouncing the national-socialism nature. A good and lengthy A.L.S., Xavier de Hauteclocque, four pages, 4to, Berlin, 10 th July, n.y., on the Berlin Eden Hotel printed stationery to Henri Beraud´s wife, in French. Hauteclocque thanks his correspondent for the help received, stating ` I only have the banal money of the sentences of recognition.. I am again in the country of the Hitlerians. I try to clarify a situation which is almost incomprehensible for occidental minds. How much I would like to have the gift of prophecy and plunge into those dreadfully black clouds..´ Together with an A.L.S., Pas-Hauteclocque, by Hauteclocque´s wife Françoise Le Mesre de Pas, four pages, 8vo, to Mr & Mrs Beraud.
