De Gaulle states that he was particularly touched by the sentiments expressed in his correspondent´s letter and continues to write ´Je vous en remercie tres sincerement ainsi que du cheque qui y etait joint et dont le montant sera verse, salon votre desir, a l´oeuvre de nos prisonniers de Guerre´ (Translation: ´I would like to sincerely thank you for the cheque that was attached and the sum will be donated to the work for our prisoners of war as you requested´). Some staining to the right edge, only very slightly affecting two letters of typed text and not the signature. G
