[BATTLE OF BRITAIN]: CARSWELL MALCOLM: (1915-2003) New Zealand fighter pilot of World War II. D.S., M K Carswell, one page, folio, n.p. (RAF Acklington, Northumberland?), n.d. (1940). The partially printed document, completed in Carswell's hand, largely in pencil, is a Combat Report (Form "F", marked Secret) providing details of one of the pilot's aerial engagements, the General Report stating ´I had my sights dead on but impossible to tell whether any hits made. I then came out of clouds & circled round but did not sight E[nemy] A[ircraft] again. I saw no markings on EA but type was unmistakable´. Signed in pencil by Carswell at the foot in his capacity as a Flight Officer with 43 Squadron. A couple of very light, extremely minor creases, VG
