The partially printed document, completed in Carswell's hand, largely in pencil, is a Combat Report (Form "F", marked Secret) providing details of one of the pilot's aerial engagements, the General Report stating ´I had my sights dead on but impossible to tell whether any hits made. I then came out of clouds & circled round but did not sight E[nemy] A[ircraft] again. I saw no markings on EA but type was unmistakable´.
