PASTEUR LOUIS: (1822-1895) French chemist and microbiologist, renowned for his discoveries of the principles of vaccination and pasteurisation. The personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Pasteur, unsigned, featuring his printed name to the centre as a member of the Institute, and with his address at the Ecole Normale, Rue d´Ulm (Paris), to the base, with two lines of text in his hand, in French, ´avec tous ses remerciements et respectueux hommages´ (Translation: ´with many thanks and respectful homage´). Together with Marie Pasteur (1826-1910) French scientific assistant and co-worker of her spouse, Louis Pasteur. The personal printed black bordered small oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Pasteur, unsigned, featuring her printed name ( ´Madame Louis Pasteur´) to the centre, with one line of French text in her hand, ´ses remerciements et ses voeux´ (Translation: ´ thanks and best wishes´).
