RAMIREZ SANCHEZ ILLICH: (1949- ) Carlos the Jackal. Venezuelan political terrorist, for many years one of the most-wanted international fugitives. Ramirez Sanchez thanks his correspondent for their letter and asks to be sent a copy of an article which appeared in a Swiss newspaper, further sending a thought for his comrade Bruno Breguet. A small colour 3 x 4 photograph of Ramirez Sanchez is neatly affixed above his signature, the image depicting him in a head and shoulders pose with his raised hands in handcuffs.
