MASSENET JULES: (1842-1912) French composer. A good vintage signed and inscribed postcard photograph, incorporating a musical quotation, the image depicting Massenet seated in a three-quarter length pose. Signed in bold, black fountain pen ink to a light area of the image, adding the year, 1905, in his hand and with an inscription to the lower white border. To a light area at the head of the image Massenet has penned a musical quotation of one bar which he identifies as being from one of his most famous works, the opera comique Manon (1884).
