TRAVEL NECESSARY in Amboine burl veneer with brass corners, parts and fillets. Rectangular in shape, the interior features a crystal and silver kit including blush pots, bottles, perfume funnel, salt bottle, sewing kit, time brush and various utensils in mother-of-pearl and gilded silver. The lid features a document holder and a removable mirror (later). Early 19th century, made by M.O. Pierre Noël Blanquier, a specialist in this type of kit, who supplied the Court under the 2nd Restoration. 10.5 x 27 x 19 cm. Some wear and minor damage to the veneer, incomplete of its contents.
