Julius Christian Rehder was primarily active as a landscape and portrait painter. He received classical training in Karlsruhe under Ferdinand Keller and in Berlin under Anton von Werner. His works are stylistically influenced by the Secessions of the turn of the century, playing with light and sometimes diffuse outlines. Three girls with a songbook. 1923. Oil on canvas. Signed, dated. Decoratively framed. - Some very light abrasion on the edges due to framing. Upper left with small, restored tear of the canvas. All in all good.

Artist information: actually Fredo Robert Bley, German painter and graphic artist.
