Description

EUROPE, premier tiers du XIXème siècle Marine trombone. Round-bodied iron flintlock and gooseneck hammer with reinforcement. Bronze barrel with cut sides, ringed, then round, then flared oval towards the muzzle. Mark IV and flower hallmark on the reverse of the barrel. Opening size: 50 x 53 mm. Long walnut shaft, cow-foot stock. Cut brass trim with buttplate. With extended iron ramrod. Head with serial number S 77400. Barrel length: 38.7 cm; overall length: 78.2 cm - ramrod length: 39 cm. Wear, scratches and knocks from use; a few wormholes, chips and fillings, notably behind the lock, above the previously broken and restored stock, retracted barrel nose; a few cracks at the muzzle.
