BEAUTIFUL PASSAGE FROM HIS WORK TERRE DES HOMMES, in a version with significant variants from the final text published in 1939. Here, the narrator and his radio, Neri, are lost in mid-air above the ocean: "... An image that haunts me. I was thirsty and hungry... And if we could find Cisneros, we'd be saved... We would land in... Casablanca. As Neri and I sat down to a morning café au lait and warm croissants, life's early gift to us, we'd be far from our night... " ATTACHED: GRILLPARZER (Franz).
