I would like to thank you again for your great interest in my work, and as I am very anxious to know your criticism, finding myself in a hole where we can only get La Dépêche from Toulouse and L'Indépendant from Perpignan,... I have therefore come to ask you to send me the issue of Gil Blas containing your assessment of the Pierrefort exhibition. The country where I'm staying until September, although devoid of Parisian newspapers, is nevertheless very beautiful and has remained unchanged or almost unchanged for a hundred years; I'm doing a lot of work there (drawings, watercolors, painting) and I hope to bring back some pretty good stuff...".
