René Char's poem, written in 1950, originally appeared in 1951 in the collection Quatre fascinants, and was included in 1962 in the collection La Parole en archipel. EXEMPLAIRE ENRICHED BY LUCIEN CLERGUE WITH 3 COLLAGES (one with original color drawing) featuring autograph captions, 2 full-page and one double-page on an added white bifeuillet: Lucien Clergue has arranged advertisements and tickets to bullfights that took place from 1972 to 2004, and recalls the bullfighting deaths of Francisco Pasquiri in 1984 and Cyril Colombeau in 2004.
