RICTUS (Jehan): le Coeur populaire. Paris, Rey, 1920. One volume. 13 by 19 cm. Full black chagrin with mosaic plant and flower decoration, gilt head, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed Buer. Some rubbing to this fine binding, one spine rubbed over 3 cm. A very fine binding, for a collection of poems as picturesque as ever. Bound at the end are 12 pages of published reviews of the book.

Full brown basane, with geometric mosaic on boards, covers preserved, gilt head. Rubbing. Good condition inside.

GAUTIER (Théophile): le Roman de la Momie. Compositions by Georges ROCHEGROSSE. Paris, Ferroud, 1920. One volume. 16.5 by 23.5 cm. (8)-221 pages, and 19 hors-texte engravings, including frontispiece. Complete. Black half-maroquin with corners, spine with 3 faux-nerfs and mosaic Egyptian decoration, gilt head, illustrated covers and spine preserved. Binding signed KIEFFER. Perfect condition. Very rare and discreet spotting, not serious. Work with colored headbands and tailpieces, initials. One of the copies on Arches vellum, numbered 1106. A splendid copy, as much for the illustration as for KIEFFER's binding.

A fine copy of Nolli's famous map of Rome. The work was commissioned by Pope Benedict XIV to produce a census of Rome and to help create the demarcations of the city's fourteen traditional districts. It is by far the most accurate description of Rome produced up to that time, in the golden age of Roman architecture. 19 bifolios, (560 x 380mm). Note to reader and double-page title, 12 double-page topographical maps (5-28), 4 numeric index leaves (1-4) 4 double-page alphabetical index leaves (29-32) from a previous binding, contemporary marginal repairs to maps (light uniform browning) The 2 double-page general maps of modern and ancient Rome by Piranesi and by Bufalini (33-36) are not present.(1)
