With unidentified collector's mark 'CD' in an oval and unidentified mark 'HH' with a crown in an oval. With inscription 'B. Cellini.' on the passe-partout.

The torso with the cuirass, the two feet in sandal, the head and the shield are studies after the statue of Mars (Pyrrhus) in the collection of the Musei Capitolini in Rome (inv. S 58).
