The artist actually writes to Galassi's wife rejoicing at the lady's idea of giving her husband one of his sculptures to put on the patio of their villa: 'Madam, don't worry about the price. I hold Galassi in high esteem and I am his friend. You don't have to worry in the least about what I can claim, count me in on the gift and send me what you think, I only take offense with the denigrator of my work and never toward those who hold me in esteem.'
