Coeval vellum binding with gold title within cartouche on spine, red cuts. Fine copy of this first edition with commentary, translation and plates by Berardo Galliani. Millard 162: "The Neapolitan edition by Gerardo Galiani is associated with the highest cultural achievements in Naples under the reign of Charles III. ... The antiquarian Galiani, the brother of the better-known diplomat Ferdinando Galiano, had been educated by the distinguished Giambattista Vico."
