Volumes 1-7 of the Deuxième Série de Le Palamède, revue mensuelle des échecs et autres jeux, published from 1842 to 1847.The journal Palamède appeared in Paris in 1836 on the initiative of the circle of chess enthusiasts who gathered at the famous Café de la Régence around Charles de la Bourdonnais, considered the greatest player of his time, having defeated Englishman Alexander MCDonnell in 1834. Bourdonnais's death interrupted publication of the journal in 1840, which reappeared in 1842 under the editorship of Pierre de Saint-Amant.
