Composed and engraved by Babel. Dedicated to artists. Paris, Jombert, 1792 1 vol. small folio: title and 53 plates. Antique 18th-century vellum paper brochure. Very good condition. Classic in its treatment of architectural orders, the work's originality lies in the 10 large rococo cartouches added to the text pages, in keeping with the taste of the period of its first edition, in 1755.

In-folio, old brown tinted half parchment, ivory parchment boards, scrolls and title stamp on spine (spine rubbed, stains on boards; light spotting, soiling and stains, one corner missing from title, accidents in margins). Fully engraved edition comprising 44 plates, including the title with Vignole's portrait, and a dedication leaf. Bound in the suite are [67] engraved plates from Derand's L'architecture des voûtes (some incomplete).
