Leopardi, Giacomo. Canti. Florence, Piatti, 1836. In 8° (156 x 95 mm); 180 pages. Small frieze to frontispiece (small eye and title page slightly shorter, occasional flourishes, other minor defects). Coeval binding in hazel-colored half-morocco with friezes and title in gold on spine. Rare Florentine second edition impressed by printer Guglielmo Piatti, at whom the original had come out in 1831. The present one includes, with corrections, the additions already present in Saverio Starita's Neapolitan impression of 1835 with the so-called "Aspasia cycle." Also in the lot is the edition of the Canti in the Le Monnier Florentine edition of 1869. (2)
