Typographical mark containing the Medici-Cappello coat of arms on title page, 2 plates outside text one of which is folded, 87 copper-engraved plates of marks (white papers A2 and 12 missing, halo at upper corner.) Modern red leather binding with gold decoration to plates. Rare first edition. Also in the lot Marks of the Breeds of Horses of the Venetian State of 1768, andMarks of the Breeds of Horses, which are presently found to be so in the Venetian State, as in Lombardy, and in part of Romagna ... collected by Giacomo di Grandi of 1724 with an antiporta bearing the dedicatee's coat of arms and 121 plates with horse brands, an elegant and rare work that not only shows the brands of horses exhibited at the Rovigo fair but also the names of the noble families who owned them, including the Aldrovandi, Canossa, Ghislieri, the Gonzaga of Mantua, the Mocenigo and the Pico della Mirandola.
