In 4° (224 x 154 mm); [16], 160 pages, maps 161-168, pages 169-391, [2], 392-432. Antiporta engraved by Lorenzo Tinti after a design by Agostino Carracci, containing the enterprise of the Academy, 17 copper-engraved emblems in the text, and 2 full-page woodcuts in the text, on a black ground, depicting the "Pleiades Montanarij 1668" on p. 391 and the "Pleiades Galilaei 1610" on p. 392, observed in fact by Montanari and Galileo (small defects). Coeval bindings in bazzana with threading to the plates and gilt friezes to the spine, splash cuts (delicate restorations). Marginal and fresh copy of this first edition. This is the Academy's most important publication covering various subjects from arms to business, music, politics, physics, astronomy, baths and games.
