Blue cloth publisher's binding with gold pattern and title to front plate, title to spine. One of 200 copies "auf holländischem Bütten." Alfred Pringsheim, incidentally father-in-law of Thomas Mann, had to sell his majolica collection to pay the so-called desertion tax.The Pringsheim Collection was the largest private collection of Italian Renaissance majolica ever equaled in quality and quantity.
