Londonio, Francesco. Complete collection of the original prints drawn and engraved by the celebrated professor-painter Francesco Londonio Milanese. Parma, Domenico Crescini & Antonio Franchetti, 1837]. In 2° oblong (408 x 565 mm).Frontispiece with portrait of the author drawn and engraved in copper by Angelo Rosena Parmigianino, "Manifesto agli amatori delle belle arti" printed on green paper and reduced in size, Life of the artist in Italian and French on 4 cards, followed by 74 finely etched plates, on the recto of each plate 2 embossed stamps with unidentified calligraphic initials placed to the right and left of the engraved part, on the verso stamp with the initials F.L. (Some blooming outside plate and light staining.) Period binding in brown half leather with corners, friezes and title in gilt on spine (some lack and defect). Beautiful complete collection of plates in fresh condition by FrancescoLondonio(1723-1783) depicting bucolic landscapes, shepherds and peasants of the Lombardy countryside, animals. The scenes depicted are restful and depict the vaguely Arcadian atmosphere.
