Marie-Thérèse ESPELT known as Mithé ESPELT (1923-2020) Rectangular mirror In polychrome enameled ceramic decorated with birds and pink flowers on a blue background, the reverse side in green felt. 29 x 25.5 cm (Upper part cracked) Enclosed: Marie-Thérèse ESPELT dite Mithé ESPELT (1923-2020) Square wooden box with pink-glazed ceramic lid decorated in relief with a dove, the reverse in green felt 6.2 x 9.7 x 10 cm (Tile broken and glued back together, missing and damaged) Condition report available on request: [email protected] NOTICE This mirror is characteristic of Mithé Espelt's 1960s production. What's more, it is part of the production of the South of France, which was then a hotbed of creative activity, with artists such as Roger Capron, Suzanne Ramié and Jacques and Daniele Ruelland. This production is marked by simple forms, vivid colors and a remarkable use of ceramics as a means of expression.
