He would create only some thirty works in his short career as a statuary artist. His style is highly recognizable, with elongated, cubic figures that echo the wiry, oval heads of his paintings. Our sculpture of "Tête de jeune fille à la frange" recalls the sacred art of Africa, an inexhaustible source, but also demonstrates the artist's knowledge of ancient artifacts from the Cyclades or Mesopotamia.
