A very handsome copy in leaves and filled covers, as issued, in a later green full-leather slipcase binding, with a passe-partout window on the first cover revealing the title. Binding and book in very good condition, with minor soiling to back cover. One of 25 numbered copies on imperial Japanese paper, this one enriched with a state on Chine of all the illustrations. Enriched with a beautiful and moving autograph letter from the author to Gonzague Truc, "author of Calliclès ou les nouveaux barbares", who was to work actively for Boylesve's memory after his death, as first vice-president of the Association des amis de René Boylesve.
