These three volumes are complete with 300 MAGNIFICENT ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPHIES. Most of these depict the soldiers in action, rather than frozen as is often the case, describing the organization, armament, clothing and equipment of the various army corps. Bound in period half-chagrin, with snags and splits (notably in the first volume), small leather tears and rubbing. The bindings are nevertheless solid. The interior is very fresh. In-folio, (4) (6) 100pp, (4) (3) 48pp Colas 1970; Lipperheide 2311 & 2313. Provenance: René Lizard Library with bookplate bearing the motto "Trahit.Sva.Quemque.Voluptas".
