[MEDICINE & PHARMACOPEIA] Johann Jakob WECKER - Le grand thrésor ou dispensaire et antidotaire tant général que spécial ou particulier des remèdes servant à la santé du corps humain drawn up in Latin De l'imprimerie d'Estienne Gamonet à Cologne, 1616 - New French edition, based on the original Latin text. The first part contains the Thresor général des préservatifs and the second the Thresor particulier; une Méthode briefve et facile d'extraire les vertus et facultés des médicaments purgatifs, this part was written and added by the translator, Jean Du Val, a physician from Issoudun, who also provided the numerous annotations. German physician Johann Jakob Wecker (1528-1585) published this antidote in two parts in 1574 and 1576, originally in Latin. This text is made all the more complete and interesting by the numerous notes, annotations and additional parts added by Jean Du Val, himself well versed in the subject. Numerous woodcut figures illustrate the work. Bound in full contemporary calf, spine with 4 raised bands and title in gilt lettering, boards decorated with gilt plates. Good overall condition, some old dampstaining, collation complete. In-4, 1336pp.
