[ORIGINAL EDITION] Alexandre DUMAS - Angèle Charpentier, Paris 1834. First edition of this play by Alexandre Dumas père, of which fine copies are rare. Superb frontispiece by Célestin Nanteuil mounted on Chine. Attractive, slightly later binding signed by the bookbinder and bibliophile Amand, Baudelaire's favorite bookbinder, signed on the tail. Red half-maroquin with corners, 5-rib spine, finely ornamented boards, gilt head. Very good condition. A fine copy, including Dumas' thank-you sheet to the actors in the play, dated January 1834, but without Nodier's prospectus for the author's works and the publisher's catalog.
