Magnificent cartonnage binding by Boutigny, one of the very few lacquered cartonnage with romantic decorations preserved in such good condition, some very slight rubbing at head and tail, a small wear crack at top of first spine, otherwise excellent condition. Printed on fine cream-colored vellum paper, which does not seem to be the case for the current edition, not mentioned by bibliographers, it is wide-margined and perfectly free of foxing.
