[RUSSIA] Ferdinand de LESSEPS - Journal historique de voyage de M. de Lesseps A Paris, de l'imprimerie royale, 1790 - Rare first edition of this account of La Pérouse's expedition across Siberia and Europe. Baron de Lesseps, interpreter of this ill-fated expedition, was the only survivor. His work includes a vocabulary of the Kamtschaadle, Koriaque, Tchouktchi and Lamoute languages. Very fine copies in period bindings, full calf with well-ornamented smooth spines, red morocco titles and endpapers. Small cracks and restorations to the spines, light rubbing not serious. Complete with the map of M. de Lesseps' route to Yamsk, the superb plate of the arrival at Kamtschadale by dog sleds in an ostrog (or village) and the map of the route to Paris.
