Note the fine illustrations of animals, natives and landscapes, particularly well done for the second voyage. Period bindings in full shagreened calf, framed with gilt lace on the boards, well-ornamented smooth spines and morocco title-pieces, a few blemishes on the headpieces and tails, small snags on the leather of the boards, not serious, overall in fine condition. A few foxing marks, not very pronounced, pink paper endpapers. Complete with 12 figures including two folding plates, Hottentot and Namaquois costumes, encampments etc. for the first two volumes and 22 plates including 5 folding plates for the second voyage. The second volume of the first voyage ends on page 399, without table leaf. In-8, 24pp, 384pp, 399pp, 32pp, 191pp, 264pp, 327pp (1p notice to binder)
