René DESCARTES - Tractatus de Homine & Musicae Compendium Very rare set of two important works by René Descartes, bound together in one volume, period binding in full parchment, boards a little soiled, morocco title-pieces on spine, head and tail missing, otherwise fine condition. Interior with a few freckles and some well-browned pages, not serious. René DESCARTES - Tractatus de Homine, et de Formatione Foetus. Apud Danielem Elsevirium, Amstelodami [From Daniel Elsevir in Amsterdam], 1677 - First edition in Latin of this important work by the author: the treatise on man, with a handsome publisher's vignette on the title page. Illustrated with numerous woodcuts, some particularly evocative.
