[RELIGIOSA] [SIGNED BINDING] Sieur de BEÜIL - De l'imitation de Jésus-Christ Chez Guillaume Desprez à Paris, 1690 - New, highly polished edition of the text by De Beüil prieur de Saint-Val, with a handsome engraved allegorical frontispiece and numerous superb engravings throughout. Very fine later binding in full red morocco, with wide, finely decorated gilt laces framing the boards, five-rib spine, finely decorated boxes in the same gilding, marbled and gilt edges, date and title in gilt lettering on the spine, gilt roulettes at the head and tail, gilt laces on the inside covers. The binding is signed Adriaensen at the tail; bindings by this Parisian bookbinder are rare, and this is a magnificent, perfectly executed copy. The interior is also superbly preserved. In-8, 618pp.
