MIQUEL VILÀ (Barcelona, 1940). "Ibiza", 1942. Oil on cardboard. Signed and dated on the back. Measurements: 22 x 30 cm; 43 x 52 cm (frame). A painter with a passion for the Barcelona neighborhood of Poblenou, Miquel Vilá was trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi and continued his studies at the Conservatory of the Arts of the Book in Barcelona. Currently, his work is preserved in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid. Stylistically, Vilá's tremendously expressive brushwork stands out, through which he captured the workshops and the industrial and borderless geography of the Poblenou neighborhood. He currently lives and works in Barcelona and Menorca.
