JOSE LUIS FLORIT RODERO (Madrid, 1909 - Paris, 2000). "Equestrian walk". Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower left corner. Measurements: 44 x 45 cm; 70 x 78 cm (frame). Painter, draftsman and illustrator, José Luis Florit begins his studies between Olot and Figueras, under the direction of the painter Juan Núñez. After this initial period he settled in Madrid, where he studied Fine Arts at the San Fernando School. In order to complete his training, he moved to Paris in 1935, where he came into contact with the different avant-gardes in force, but always maintaining a very personal style. Upon his return he settled in Barcelona. He was a founding member of the group Artists in Action, and held several exhibitions, both individual and collective. Among them were those held at the Museum of Modern Art in Madrid (1935) and at the Venice Biennial. He also participated in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts, obtaining a medal in 1934. He is represented in the Museum of Modern Art of Madrid.
