3 Veterans' commemorative medals, 1870-1871, 2 bronze, diam 30 mm, one with bar: "ENGAGE VOLONTAIRE", a 36 mm bronze variant, ribbon with anchor. 1 medal from the Société française de secours aux blessés militaires, 1864-1866, silver-plated, ribbon with bar and 2 unidentified medals, one without ribbon. Late 19th/early 20th century; good condition.

ALEXANDER DERKACHENKO: BOY AND TOAD ALEXANDER DERKACHENKO: BOY AND TOAD By Alexander Derkachenko, signed with the artist’s mark Ukraine, c. 1990s Finely carved in mammoth tusk with stained details, amusingly crafted as a boy hunching down to pet a warty toad, his trousers amusingly slipping as a result and revealing his buttocks in the back. Good himotoshi to the side and signed underneath with the artist’s typical signature within an inlaid gold plaque. HEIGHT 3.8 cm Condition: Excellent condition. Provenance: Austrian private collection, acquired from the artist directly.
