Pair of molded and carved beech chairs, with openwork lyre-shaped backs, horseshoe-shaped seat, resting on curved legs with curved flutes; (restorations, notably the rosettes redone; originally painted). Stamped by Nicolas-Simon Courtois, master carpenter in 1766. Louis XVI period. Height : 88 cm ; Width : 42 cm Although stamped by Courtois, these chairs are reminiscent of the work of Georges Jacob, particularly in the way the inside of the belt is hollowed out.
