Tibetan Phurba Dagger, XIX century. Gilded bronze. It shows signs of use and wear. Measurements: 30 x 13 x 11 cm. The Phurba is a ceremonial knife used primarily in Tibetan Buddhism and other Himalayan spiritual traditions. It has a distinctive three-sided blade that ends in a sharp point, resembling a stake or trident. Practitioners use the Phurba in specific rituals to invoke protective deities, purify environments and consecrate sacred spaces. In the specimen shown, the three Bodditsavas masks embody the spiritual force of the three blades.
