The first bears the signature of the watchmaker Andriessen (Berger op Zoom), with the lid embossed with the Turkish State Railways and adorned with a locomotive. The second with the Tellus Granicer mark. Dated 1931. Diameter: 5 cm. Provenance: Private collection of Belgian watch historian Eddy Fraiture.

Fresh copy of this second edition, expanded from the first edition of 1590 with a four-page essay written by Bernardino Stramegioli devoted to "solar horologists." In addition to sundials, a water clock is also depicted.
