OMAS "EMOTICA" FOUNTAIN PEN. Matt yellow and chrome barrel. Limited edition. Titanium nib. F point. Click cap. Cartridge loading. No box. Unused. Measurements: 14,50 cm. length. Omas "Emotica" fountain pen in yellow and polished chrome trim. This is a clor of the three that were part of this series of very short-lived fountain pens. The fountain pen features an asymmetrical cap and an unusual hinged pocket clip that provides a bipod function that allows the pen to be placed on a desk, either horizontally or vertically. Another distinctive feature of this pen is the very large and flexible Omas titanium tip (fine tip) that allows for expressive writing. OMAS is an Italian company dedicated to the manufacture of fountain pens, based in Bologna. It was founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni, and its name stands for "Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni" (English: Armando Simoni mechanical workshop). At the beginning it was a small workshop dedicated to the repair of fountain pens that managed to evolve rapidly thanks to the creation of machines and equipment necessary to obtain the moldings and the grinding of the nib tips. After the death of "Cavaliere Simoni", in 1958 his daughter Raffaella and her husband Angelo Malaguti inherited the company. In 1983 their grandson, Gianluca Malaguti, joined the family business, where he showed his talent in the search for beauty and harmony of design, following the tradition of the Bolognese brand. OMAS was part of the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. group, and in June 2018 it was announced that Ancora, another Italian fountain pen manufacturer, had acquired OMAS and that production would resume and OMAS would remain a separate brand, retaining its classic models and using the materials inherited from the previous company.
