MONTEGRAPPA FOUNTAIN PEN "FERRARI DYLAN STEPHEN", 1999. Body in red enamel and 925 mls silver. Limited edition. Exemplary 158/360. Two-tone gold nib 18 kts. F point. Screw cap. Piston loading. No box. Unused. Deteriorated. Measurements: 15 cm. length. Ferrari is the world-famous Italian sports car brand. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929, the company began by sponsoring drivers and manufacturing racing cars as the Scuderia Ferrari, which translates as "Ferrari stable". In 1947, the company moved into the production of street-legal vehicles as Ferrari SpA. Throughout its history, Ferrari was noted for its participation in racing, especially in Formula One, in which it achieved great success. The Prancing Horse or "Caballito Rampante" is the famous symbol of the Ferrari racing team. The stallion is black on a yellow shield, and above it is green, white and red, the national colors of Italy. After Enzo Ferrari won a race in Ravenna, he met the mother of Count Francesco Baracca, an Italian Air Force ace and national hero of the First World War. He painted a rearing horse on the side of his plane. The countess asked Enzo Ferrari to use this horse on his cars, suggesting that it would bring him luck. Thus the emblem of the prancing horse was born. No box. Unused. Deteriorated.
