STIPULA "Da Vinci Battaglia di Anghiari" STIPULA STYLOGRAPHIC PLUMA. Body in reddish brown ebonite and silver ornamentation. Limited edition. Exemplary 158/193. Nib in 18 kts. white gold. M tip. Screw cap. Cartridge loading. No box. Unused. Slight deterioration in the metallic areas. Measurements: 13,40 cm. length. The Battle of Anghiari, to which this collectible pen is dedicated, was one of the battles that took place in 1440 during the Lombard Wars. It pitted the forces of Milan against those of an alliance of different cities, including the Republic of Florence. In this battle the forces of the alliance prevailed, thus securing their independence, and to commemorate this victory of the Florentine Republic Stipula - based in Florence - created a very special and interesting pen. The Stipula Da Vinci Battaglia di Anghiari pen was released in only 193 numbered pieces. It is based on the Stipula Da Vinci model, which is itself an interesting mechanical creation, as it is a medium-sized Safety Pen without a cap. To reveal its tip, the user must twist the body and grip of the pen; gradually, a window on the front of the pen opens and the tip is revealed. Battaglia di Anghiari is made of reddish brown ebonite and silver. It has a nib made of 14-karat white gold and a blister or pump filling system. To access the filling system, disconnect the body from the pen grip by pulling the 2 parts. The Italian firm Stipula is based in Florence, cradle of artists and craftsmen. It recovers the tradition of using celluloid, a very unstable and difficult material to manufacture, but once achieved it is very attractive, non-allergic and very durable.
