The "Le Città" collection was developed to showcase many of the world's important cities. Every detail of the Omas Roma Limited Edition fountain pen depicts the capital city of Rome. One of the most impressive elements is the famous Flavian Amphitheater on the barrel of the pen. The Colosseum is also on the pen with the Latin phrase SPQR, Senatus Populus Quiritium Romanus engraved on top. The Roman numerals DCCLIII are above the barrel in reference to the founding year of Rome. Also engraved on the barrel is the famous phrase "Roma caput mundi regit orbis frena rotundi" (Rome, capital of the world, holds the reins of the world in its hands). The clip evokes the shape of Roman arcades. The majestic dome of St. Peter's Cathedral is engraved on the 14k gold nib. OMAS is an Italian fountain pen manufacturer based in Bologna. It was founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni, and its name stands for "Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni" (English: Armando Simoni mechanical workshop). At the beginning it was a small workshop dedicated to the repair of fountain pens that managed to evolve rapidly thanks to the creation of machines and equipment necessary to obtain the moldings and the grinding of the nib tips. After the death of "Cavaliere Simoni", in 1958 his daughter Raffaella and her husband Angelo Malaguti inherited the company. In 1983 their grandson, Gianluca Malaguti, joined the family business, where he showed his talent in the search for beauty and harmony of design, following the tradition of the Bolognese brand. OMAS was part of the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. group, and in June 2018 it was announced that Ancora, another Italian fountain pen manufacturer, had acquired OMAS and that production would resume and OMAS would remain a separate brand, retaining its classic models and using the materials inherited from the previous company. No box. If used.
