Montblanc commemorates the centenary of the death of Mark Twain, the great American writer who was inspired by the mighty Mississippi River. The precious deep blue resin reflects the shallow ripples of the river with sinuous, curved lines. The top of the lid is shaped like the Mississippi's steamboat smokestacks. The clip is formed by a stylized harp, a musical instrument that was popular in the southern states in Twain's time. Since 1992 Montblanc has dedicated each year the Writers Limited Edition to an outstanding author of world literature, a source of inspiration for the great writers of contemporary literature.
