MONTBLANC FOUNTAIN PEN "LIMITED EDITION WRITERS, MARK TWAIN, 2010". Blue/black resin barrel and silver ornamentation. Limited edition. Exemplary 09423/12000. Nib in 18kt white gold. F point. Screw cap. Charged by plunger. No box. Unused. Good state of preservation. Measurements: 14.2 cm. in length. Montblanc commemorates the centenary of the death of Mark Twain, the great American writer who was inspired by the mighty Mississippi River. The precious deep blue resin reflects the shallow ripples of the river with sinuous, curved lines. The top of the lid is shaped like the Mississippi's steamboat smokestacks. The clip is formed by a stylized harp, a musical instrument that was popular in the southern states in Twain's time. Since 1992 Montblanc has dedicated each year the Writers Limited Edition to an outstanding author of world literature, a source of inspiration for the great writers of contemporary literature. The magic and passion that emanates all his work surrounds this Limited Edition Writers. The Montblanc firm was founded in 1906, and in 1913 was created the star that is its emblem and hallmark of the house. It is a round white star that represents the snow that covers the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, and symbolizes the commitment of the brand as European manufacturers of objects of the highest quality and distinction.
