The limited edition 1849 EW is inspired by the legendary epic of the Gold Rush in which, starting in 1849, thousands of brave people from all over the world undertook the adventure of emigrating from the eastern states of America to the legendary West, in search of gold but also of a better life. An event that helped forge the American spirit with its optimism, tireless dynamism and self-confidence. The story of this journey is traced to the letter: the caravans of the pioneers give way to those of the gold prospectors, followed by the gradual colonization of California, the construction of gold mines and the building of the railroad. In 1912 Montegrappa produces writing instruments on the banks of the Brenta River. Originally known by the name of Elmo, it was nurtured by the talent of a group of local artists who worked to produce objects crafted with the utmost meticulousness, style and mastery, always aiming for excellence. In 1930, in the midst of a golden period for Italian fashion, the Montegrappa firm was definitively born, standing out for the elegance of its products. The house found a wide public to whom to sell its designs, always with a simple but elegant style, customized with a varied choice of colors and materials. In 2001, Montegrappa was acquired by the Richemont Group, one of the world leaders in the luxury goods sector. In the period that followed, 2001/2005, the brand initially operated under the signature of Cartier, later to be controlled by Montblanc. In 2019 The Aquila family acquired Montegrappa. No box. Unused. Good state of preservation.
