Die Handschrift war ein Geschenk Heinrichs III. an die Domherren in Speyer. Die prachtvolle, in Goldtinte gestaltete Schrift des Evangeliars sollte Gutenberg als Vorbild für seine Druckschrift dienen. - Sehr gutes Exemplar. Facsimile of the manuscript Ms. 13 of the Aschaffenburg Court Library. 2 vols. (Facs. and Comm.). With numerous coloured and gilded miniatures, illustrations and book decorations. Orig. leather with inlaid, silvered and partly gilt metal plate and orig. cloth with gilt title on cover and spine (without cassette). - One of 980 numbered copies. - With the commentary volume by Harald Wolter von dem Knesebeck. The metal plate on the cover follows the model of the Preetz Gospels from the convent of Preetz near Kiel. - One of the masterpieces of 13th century German book art, the manuscript was a gift from Henry III to the canons of Speyer. The magnificent script of the Gospels, designed in gold ink, that was to serve Gutenberg as a model for his printed type. - Very good copy.

Blatt Pont Neuf mit recto nicht sichtbarer Faltung im oberen weißen Rand. Sehr vereinzelt minimal braunfleckig. Insgesamt gut erhalten. France - Collection of two large format aquatint etchings with views of Paris. Each on vélin with watermark "1801 J Whatman". Each mounted in spots under passepartout. - 3rd state (of 3) with the aquatint revision. Inscribed on the left below the image: "Drawn & Etch'd by Tho.s Girtin", on the lower right: "Aquatinted by F. C. Lewis". In the publisher's address with the date. - Contains: see above. From the volume "A selection of twenty of the most picturesque views in Paris, and its environs" published by Girtin in London in 1803. - Light margins under the passepartout. Sheet Pont Neuf with recto not visible folding in upper white margin. Very few spots with brownish stains. Overall in good condition.
