The background, composed exclusively of large patches of color, frames and limits a single decorative motif: flowers enclosed in a glass globe. Formal economy and chromatic unity create a harmonious balance between abstract motifs and figurative references. The canvas entitled "Les Couleurs de l'été" is the counterpart to L'Antiquaire, with the same long format, color palette and approach, but with a less abstract introduction.
