The extensive collection shows extremely skillfully worked out designs for monogram vignettes, which appear very vivid due to the use of opaque white and pen and the resulting light-dark contrast. The anonymous author made use of the stylistic vocabulary of Art Nouveau with its elegant curves, long sweeping lines and vegetal elements as well as strict geometric forms as found in the emerging Art Deco style. Each album page contains between four and seven different designs in various sizes, each with a handwritten inventory number. - A few designs with minimal studio marks and rubbing.
